City Name
History:

An
early settler by the name Browning originally called the town Willoway, after his
wife's favorite saying, "Where there's a will, there's a way." In
1892 the railroad changed the name to Pamona to distinguish it from the Willapa town site.
Discovery in 1894 of a Pamona post office east of the Cascade Mountains
resulted in the railway superintendent's renaming the town for a member of his
family - Adna Marian.
