City Name
History:
|
In
the half-century following settlement of the Bellingham Bay area there
were several adjacent communities on the bay shore. At different
times, as separate or merged entities, the towns were known as Whatcom, Sehome, New Whatcom, Pattle's Point, Unionville, Old Bellingham and
Fairhaven. In 1904 they consolidated under the Bellingham city
charter and became the county seat. |
