City Name
History:
|
Originally
known as Brownsville after William J. Brown, who homesteaded the townsite
in 1869. Advent of the railroad resulted in a population boom and
the need for a post office. There are varying versions of the source
of the town's present name. It may have been named Bow after the
large railway station in London, or it may have been named for James T.
Bow, an early homesteader in the area. |
