City Name
History:

The
ocean resort town, situated at the mouth of Copalis Creek, was named for
the Native-American tribe, called Chepalis by Lewis and Clark, that
inhabited the area. Repetition of the name is found directly inland
at Copalis Crossing, a railroad station community near the Humptulips
River. |
