City Name
History:
|
A
contraction of King's Town adopted in 1890 by townsite platters, Mr. and
Mrs. C.C. Calkins, who were the principals of the Kingston Land
Development Co. The word "King" in various ways was used
locally for some years to identify the area geographically, as it had been
the base of logging operations for a lumberman with that surname. |
