Northern
Pacific construction crews selected Preston as the name for a station on
the Willapa Harbor Branch line. It was rejected as a duplication of
another station's name, so the crew borrowed the sign "Menlo
Park" from a real estate development down the track, broke off the
Park portion, and rechristened Preston as Menlo. |
