City Name
History:
|
Seattle City Light's gateway town to its Skagit
River dams - Gorge, Diablo, and Ross - was named for Newhalem Creek, a
tributary that joins the Skagit River at the community site. The name
is corruption of the Indian word ne-whalem, meaning "goat snare." |

This community is not an official city.
It was not visited during Phase One when I was visiting all the cities in the
state. However, after receiving several e-mails of why it was not visited, I
decided to add it to my project. |
