City of North Bonneville

Date Visited:   Saturday, July 27, 2002
City Visited #:   255
County:   Skamania
Visited With:   Michelle & High School Jen
City Name History:   The area post office was established in 1851 and repeatedly changed names - Hamilton, Moffett Springs, Table Rock, Wacomac (after a Native-American chief), and Moffetts - with changes in postmasters. The dwindling community, which enjoyed resurgence with construction of the Bonneville Dam, changed its name to capitalize on its location at the northern side of the dam.
