History:

When
a telephone toll station was installed to connect the distant cattle
ranch of E.W. Dooley with his Yakima residence, company officials
rejected his surname for the identifying call code. The ranch's
view of a wide expanse of sagebrush led to selection of the word
Outlook, a name adopted by the railroad for its siding station when
tracks were subsequently laid eight miles to the south. |
