Initially
known as Nosler's Hotel, the town was established as Nera on December 7,
1895, and changed to Ives Landing four months later. Renamed in 1900
by former army Lt. Charles E. Nosler for a town of the same name in the
Philippine Islands near which he had campaigned during the
Spanish-American War. |
