City Name
History:
|
Located
in the heart of the Black Diamond-Franklin-Ravensdale coal field, the town
title derived from the word association of the Dale Coal Company name with the
flocks of ravens that fed on grain spilled from boxcars on the Northern
Pacific Railroad that ran through the community. Prior to adoption
of its present name, it was called Leary after the Leary Coal Company. |
