City Name
History:
|
The
tributary of the Cowlitz River and the small community on its banks
derived their name from a spoken-usage adaptation of the Native-American
word hullooetell, referred to by Lewis and Clark as the name of a
Native-American tribe living on the upper reaches of the Coweliskee
(Cowlitz River). |
